• Abstract : These guidelines, developed by the MusaNet Taxonomy Advisory Group, aim to establish a standardized procedure for the routine morphological characterization of banana plants using 34 minimum descriptors. They have been updated several times since their publication in 2010 following testing by and input from Musa curators and researchers taking part in MusaNet characterization workshops. The most recent revision was done in 2019.
