• Abstract : These guidelines, developed by the MusaNet Taxonomy Advisory Group, aim to establish a standardized procedure for the routine morphological characterization of Plantains using 33 minimum descriptors. They have been updated several times since their publication in 2016 following testing by and input from Musa curators and researchers taking part in MusaNet characterization workshops. The most recent revision was done in 2019.
