• Abstract : Unless otherwise indicated, the photos in this catalogue were taken between 31 May and 10 June 2004 in the State of Pohnpei, in the Federated States of Micronesia, as part of a consultancy arranged by the Island Food Community of Pohnpei and funded by UNICEF. The purpose of the visit was to assist in the identification and characterization of the island's banana varieties and make recommendations for the development of the banana industry. The catalogue covers 38 cultivars and 6 hybrids produced by the Honduran Agricultural Research Foundation (FHIA). Each photo is accompanied, when available, by the local name of the cultivar, its taxonomic section, genome group, subgroup, local name in the State of Kosrae, and known synonyms.
