  • Abstract : Musa balbisiana judged by the frequency with which it has come into the Musa collection at the Imperial College of Tropical Agriculture, is the commonest and most widely distributed of all Musa species. Its name, however, has never had general currency since Calla bestowed it, and among other preliminaries to a revision of the genus to which it belongs some discussion of nomenclature is desirable.
