• Abstract : The banana varieties in this catalog represent a portion of the diversity seen by the author during a visit, in June 2011, of the field collections of Malaita, Guadalcanal and Makira, as well as along the way. Only those plants which were flowering or had some other clearly distinguishable traits were documented. Most were not fully characterized, but photos were taken and an attempt to gather as much useful information about them as possible was made. The classifications are tentative, particularly for the less well known types.
